| 4Traffic Banner Exchange FAQ |
|
How does 4Traffic's banner exchange work? You join and we send you HTML code that automatically shows a random banner of another member each time you get a visitor. You create and upload a banner to us, and for every 5 times a banner is shown on your site, yours will be shown 4 times on other sites. If someone clicks on a banner, they are sent to the owner's site. I've never made a banner before. Where do I start? It's quite easy. You can either use a free online service that will fill in your wording into a banner template, or you can download or buy a graphics program and custom-make one. The first option is extremely easy, and takes maybe a minute. The second of course takes far longer and requires a little artistic talent, but can be more satisfying. Go here for a list of resources, tips, and tutorials on banner creation. What are the requirements for my banner? Max of 15k file size (windows users: right click on it, then choose properties), .gif or .jpg format, 468x60 image size. Animation and looping are fine. Tasteless or pornographic themes are not. Can I use multiple banners? Yes. At this time you may use 2, so that you may judge how successful banners are by comparison, and remove unsuccessful ones. The choice as to which will be used will be random each time. Only one is necessary though. Can I put the 4Traffic banner code on multiple pages? Will I get credit for each? Yes, put the code on as many pages as you like. If a visitor visits 5 pages on your site, that will count as 5 distinct visits, which earns you 4 credits. Can I visit my own pages to earn credits? Your visits will earn you credits, but only visit your site when you would normally need to do so. Excessive visits just to earn credits, redirects, macros, multiple sets of the 4Traffic code on a single page, and other tricks are not allowed. Members that seem to be abusing the system will be warned or removed, since that behavior only harms other members. Can I change the 4Traffic HTML code? No. Unauthorized changes may cause it to malfunction, or may be against our acceptable usage policy. If you feel you have a valid and necessary reason for doing so, feel free to contact us. |
